brief moment.
was painfully girly at graham and magically, did not freak him out or piss him off.
only online so i can read goodnights.
then off for knitting.
must finish odin's hat, start graham's hat, and get socks finished so i can knit endpaper mitts.
go ravelry them.
they're amaaazing.
they're gonna look insane-crazy in the yarns i'm going to use, one which is many shades [varying color lengths/spots, really i just dumped a bunch of different shades of pink and red in a pot], and one which i used black wilton's to dye and wound up with yarn that is DARK PURPLE in spots and TURQUOISE everywhere else.
dunno how it happened. but it did.
anyway.
going now.
will catch up on blogs later, possibly tomorrow...

Warning: Sappy Girliness
New upsetting things are in the air. Virginia is off the books for now, Doug has refused to leave and is playing the "you can't leave state with my kid" card. Which is a really good card and I'm pissed that he's using it.
I know he loves his baby and all, and that he wants me to stay because he wants to "work things out", but I know quite a bit of it has to do with Graham and wanting to keep me away from him, and that's the part that pisses me off.
Doug's applied to this place that has factories? stores? whatevers downstate, and that means I'll be staying with him while I'm paying bills and saving monies and getting things legalized, and I WILL be leaving. There is no doubt in my mind about that.
I am so horribly upset about not seeing Graham like I wanted to. There apparently exists a small chance he'll move up to be with his Mom in Chicago, and then I could see him pretty often. It'd be about the same drive as if I moved to live with Aunt Alice, and I could spend all winter teasing him awfully and Heather and Nic could meet him, and Andy too, and Christmas Mike, and then they can stop asking me freaking questions...
Anyway. Back on topic. Due to several interesting circumstances, I no longer feel even remotely welcome in this house and have removed all my things and put them in the camper. The camper is teeny-tiny, I mean TINY, but it's where I live now. I have to get all of my things out of the garage and either get rid of them or put them in the other camper, as I don't want any sort of reliance on anybody else around here. Doug won't even let me take Odin to see his sister Diane, which I think is supreme bullshit and I want to hit him for almost. It's a really complicated situation and as usual I see it from too many sides and am getting shit from everybody about things, and I'm so tired of it.
Point is that I won't be able to be online nearly as much as I am now... Which is waaaay less than I was previously anyway. I'm gonna try to get on at least once or twice a week, but other than that won't be doing too much. Hopefully the knitting goes okay too, as I will have no monies, NO MONIES for yarn and am working solely out of my stash from now until I move away from Doug.
Okay, I'll probably stash money for yarn. I know I will.
I printed off everything important on my "to knit" list [ie. everything I've promised somebody/have the yarn for] and am gonna be knitting for Heather and Graham and Odin and Myself and that's really it. I owe Doug a pair of socks, but he can have them for his Yule gift.
Gods, I'm so upset still.
Seriously, can I really expect Graham to still be interested in me once this all finally smooths out? How long is that going to take? Neither he nor I were ever interested in any sort of long distance relationship, and then we found ourselves fucked up in some weird internet thing, and now that I was finally going to get to see him flesh-wise everything is fucked up.
And he was so sweet about everything it fucking broke my heart. Full of calmness and how it'll be okay in the end and I was sitting here just sobbing, half from all the stress and half from how damn nice he was being to me.
I don't know very many nice guys who are Nice Guys For Real, only Nic and Andy, and they don't count really because Nic is my best friend's boyfriend and Andy's my Other Best Friend. And he's gay. So... Hrm.
I really just want to go have some angry, angry sex and feel better, but I'm not attracted to anybody enough to want to touch them, except Graham, and he's so far away it doesn't really work out so well. So I'm just sitting here listening to his MySpace music and trying to feel better.
I'm done. I'm so motherfucking done. I miss Graham, I want to be near him and out of this state and this horrible mess I'm in with Doug, and I want to forget all this drama and all this bullshit and just MOVE ON.

things and stuff and more things
Last night was the last night with Mike. :(
There was sitar music, a really uncomfortably-full coffeeshop, drinks were bought for me bar-wise, I made a new friend, people propositioned me [grrrrr], I got Doug's foil back from James [who also gifted me a fantastic book and loaned me an even more fantastic book and filled me full of whiskey too], I played major amounts of Guitar Hero, and I even managed to stay awake for the Last Joint. All in all it was pretty satisfying.
Though I went to sleep at five thirty and had to be to work at nine. That part was a little ridiculous, but Melody needed somebody to take Erika's shift and I wasn't about to let Melody get screwed over. Plus I need the hours and was in town aaaanyway. Hrm.
I got a bunch of knitting done at the coffeeshop, and a little at the bar. It's amazing, metalheads are so interested in knitting, and punks too, but hipsters couldn't care less. Not even one person seemed to notice. Though I suppose that it has something to do with all of them trying to be doing new and interesting things that nobody else is doing, and I bet the next time I go in there there'll be three people there full of yarn, knitting with "I'm the first person EVER to do this" looks on their faces.
But, that's the plan. Assimilate them all into knitters!
Side note: Despite the bar's jukebox having a bit of Opeth, I'm largely unhappy with the complete lack of black metal. Everyone needs more black metal in their lives. Especialy me. I was so longing for it I would have settled for some horrible LOTR-style epic metal. I'll admit I do listen to Blind Guardian when somebody turns it on, but I certainly wouldn't decide to listen to it.... Kinda like Cannibal Corpse. *grimace*
The box for Graham is working on getting assembled, and I'm filling it full of cheesey sappy stuff and sending it to him at work [!!!] with the express purpose of making all the girls he works with make weird shrieking noises and Muffin Lady comments.
Speaking of Graham, he recently changed up most of his MySpace music and it makes me soooo happy. Especially because the only thing that always stays the same is Amsterdam and that one's my favorite. But he's got We Didn't Start the Fire on there now, and I'm superhappy.
Uhm, okay, I'm gonna go and mess with other interweb things. I'll be on later tonight to read blogs and leave pointless and probably painfully random comments.

Uh, Odin wanted to type. He messed everything up. I have no idea what the computer thinks it's doing anymore.
In other news, my friends are the coolest. I've been missing them wildly lately and am unable to get into town to see them [read: 40 minute drive with gas prices over three bucks, exhaust and engine mount problems [yes, my engine mount is currently not even attached to the car..., no registration AND a broken taillight.], and Mike is leaving for Louisiana in days and I haven't seen Andy in forever or even been able to hang out with Nic or Heather for more than a few hours.... So yesterday I get online and am suddenly having all sorts of people telling me to be there tomorrow night. Apparently they'd planned to hang out either in town or in Auburn so it would be closer to me! Mike and Andy and Christmas Mike AND Nic and Heather!! I just dunno what to do I'm so pleased.
Oh. I know what to do. More knitting.
Anyway.
I've modified and am knitting a hat for Odin and am making something supercute for Graham. Teeny felted hearts, I'll post a link later on, I have to figure out what he did to the keyboard....

Sassberry Karma Muffins
You can make them YOUR way, but this is how I do it. It's like a choose-your-own-muffin-adventure...
You can either...
a] Make muffins from scratch, with quartered raspberries and diced strawberries
or
b] Use the Jiffy Raspberry Muffin Mix in a box and add some diced strawberries
I used the giant foil no-muffin-pan-needed cups to bake my muffins in. Because I like 'em BIG.
The Karma part means you have to SHARE them. Which is hard. Because they're yummy.
I made some for Doug to take to work with him, some to leave on the kitchen table for mindless snacking, and some so I can mail them to Graham at work so the girls there will giggle at him. Hahahaaa.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
I'm bored. I'm bored all the time. I have a Monstrous Headache, which is odd as I never ever get headaches.
Anyway. On Sunday Christmas Mike and I took Odin up to see all the animals they had around for the fair, and he got to pet a kangaroo, llamas, things that looked like llamas, goats and sheep and things that looked like goats and sheep, a camel, and a zebra. He got to see a tortoise, leopards, porcupines, lemurs, a sloth, monkies, and a baboon with a huge boner.
I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait until Diane and/or Tim gets home. The Ab Lounge is calling me and I'm so. bored. over here that I might just cut my toes off to give myself something to do. I wish Graham were around, and like in PERSON around, not just on the computer. I'm not sure how normal it is to miss someone you haven't really technically met [yet], but I miss him something awful and now that the move has been delayed I'm even more impatient to get to VA. Gar. GAR.
Maybe I'll go see if there's anybody home over there. I did stop by an hour ago originally, and in an hour a
[^That's where Odin hit the computer button and I had to completely restart everything, gar]
Anyway, Odin's gotten tons of cute new clothes today from Nichole, three Halloween shirts, some other shirts, and an asston of pajamas. He got a bunch of From-Grandma clothes lately too, so that's cool. I sorted through all his clothes today and arranged his drawers so his play clothes and school clothes aren't all shoved in together anymore. Which is nice. I need to do it for my stuff today too, and then do all the sewing I need to do [fixing my clothes and stuff and finishing Odin's pillowcase and Halloween candy bag]... That's the plan anyway. I had a wicked-bad sinus headache all day long, but have finally taken pills and now feel better.
I want to knit something quick, too, but can't think of anything I want to make. It's pointless for me to make dishcloths, because Odin's Great Grandma makes them for us [and potholders, too, w00t] so I just don't know. I've finally decided what hat I'm going to make for Graham, as I was really stuck on the ideas of this colorwork hat business... I'm gonna knit him the Pi Hat and worry about the other one later. Maybe for Yule. Everybody's getting hats for Yule methinks. Except me, I want legwarmers.
Odin is super adorable today, but Tiamat is a huge cunt. Just thought I'd throw that in.
And, since I miss having pictures, I'm gonna go rummage through flickr until I find something cute/scary/fucked up to post.

Box Full of Marbles
I have not been knitting. My hat is way too small and I have to frog it, and I'm generally upset about it. My sock is bothering me for no particular reason, and I'm going to start a fuzzy ballet sweater tonight from a book Kelly has [with yarn that was only a dollar a ball, rock on clearance prices]... Or maybe this here Ribbed Lace Bolero... One or the other.
And I'm gonna actually swatch this time.
...I know. The earth is splitting, hellfires ablaze, yadda yadda, the world must be ending.
I love sweaters and just got rid of tons of them. I can't very well have thirteen thick wool sweaters in Virginia... I think tons of light sweaters and ONE thick wool sweater will work out just fine.
And.
Well, I dunno. Diane and Tim and I took all the kids to Founders' Day today in Sanford. A parade, barbeque/swimming, museums, craft fair, train rides, playground, etc. etc. Odin actually slept through the entire thing, but he's coming off the flu.
He slept through the entire parade, which amazes me. The band, the firetrucks, the huge honking things, everything. Nothing woke him up.
And, I miss people and can't do anything about it, as we're saving dollars for moving. I guess I do have Ab Lounging times at Diane's and all the knitting I could ask for right here, but still, I miss all my friends and especially I miss Graham, even though he's the one I'll be able to see once we finally get to Virginia.
I still have things I want to go through and get rid of, some clothes and shoes and stuff like that to make space for moving.
And gar, I have to finish Odin's pillowcase and his candy-bag, dammitdammitdammit.
Okay, I have blogs to read, a shower to take, Abs to Lounge, and a sweater-or-the-other to knit.
Wooooo-hooooooo... Maybe I'll go Ab Lounge first so I don't punk out on it later on...
Someday I should explain what "box full of marbles" means.
Well, I'll do it right now.
Heather and I got on the topic of the slang word "box" for vagina, and how it's not really box-shaped. And you don't pack it full of things and close it up and write on it with Sharpie...
Heather: [makes motion of writing] Box...of marbles.
Stephanie: :O!

I wish I had photo evidence
I've done so much lately and have nothing to show for it picture-wise. I've finished the Doom Sweater [cotton candy baby sweater from HipKnits], made Rhiannon's Yule gift [a super cute hat with a cord running through and pompons, I wish I had a photo!], taught Doug's Mom Kelly how to knit a little bit, made Odin a fleece blanket, pinned together squares to make a matching fleece pillow, finished the Viking Hat, bought tons and tons of yarn and needles and done SCADS of dyeing, have been making charts to do Norwegian-style colorwork on a hat for Graham, AND today I started the Official Kitty62 Hat, only I'm doing it in Cheshire stripes. Yay!
But, back to Kelly knitting. She's started on socks! AND, she didn't just buy a skein or two of yarn, she bought herself a whopping seventy bucks in stash in one fell swoop of JoAnn clearance! She signed up for Ravelry the very same day :D Doug's sister Nichole has also started crocheting afghans with fervor, and not just afghans, fucking BLANKETS. So that's awesome.
I think I'm gonna crochet up an afghan out of the bulky turquoise wool I got from Erika in her swap. I've seen some things I'd like to do with it, but to make Joseph for Odin I'd want to dye it, because THAT much turquoise isn't quite little-boyish. I found a cute lace poncho I'd like to make in the book Kelly just bought, but I'm not really the poncho-type. Maybe a big shawl-thing of some sort or another. Maybe I'll go Ravelry up something real quick...
Really, turquoise is my favorite color, and I have one supasoft knit turquoise blanket already and a fuzzy pillow, so another turquoise blanket would really be awesome... Yeah, I think I'll go blanket. I have that Reader's Digest book of stitches, and I'll use something really open and fabulous. Turquoise, turquoise, turquoise, yay, thank you thank you Erika, for this shall someday be a big snuggly thing that I'll probably use as a shawl regardless...
Anyway, I've finally been able to talk to Graham occasionally, which is beyond excellent. I missed him in an awful way and it seems like ages before I'll be in VA. I still miss him now that we aren't talking every night for hours on end any longer...
BUT,
I have Graham to talk at and then dinner to eat and my Cheshire Hat to work on so I can knit the ballet sweater in Kelly's book, and work on this damn sock... I gave myself TEN projects to do, both WIPs and planned knits to do before the Big Move to VA happens so that I can be WIP-less for SockWars and also for Yule Knits. Now that Rhiannon's done I only have three kids left to knit for and a handful of adults. Graham and Odin don't really count in that because I'm sure they'll wind up with more knitted goods than anybody else :D
Ok, for serious, I'm going.
