i move into my apartment on december 4th.
so i'm around here, updating all my interwebby bits, for soon i shall only be online at random friends' houses and the like.
but that's okay, because i finally get out.
other things to do include finding daycare in mt. pleasant [no more of that christian-lady for me, despite how viciously nice they were, that's just not my thing], hopefully that you can pay by the hour and not by the day, also finding out how exactly to make biolife appointments since they dont' take them by phone anyway, and applying for various third-shift positions, preferably not in fast food as that shall only propagate the eating of such foodstuffs and also will slightly ruin the fact that i've sufficiently gotten AWAY from that.
anyway.
i'm gonna go read up on everybody else's blogs nooow, and then do some doom-laundry. and watch Outlaw Star.

fuck me later
Thanksgiving Dinner was somewhat disappointing. Only because so many people bailed. Other than that it was pretty good.
Now, on actual Thanksgiving, Doug and his family are off having Thanksgiving, and I am sitting here playing Interwebs with half a pot of coffee already ingested, listening to electronic metal [yay], considering the fact that I must needs go shower for Andy shall be here eventually to collect me for Andy's Family Drunkenness stuff... Which I just super-love. I really really love Andy's family.
I really miss Graham. I had suprise MySpacings from him yesterday, which really brightened my entire week... I know he doesn't want to move North, but I really hope he goes to Chicago, I really really hope he does. I don't want to do anything suggestive about it [well, aside from saying he should move there], because I don't want to spiritually influence him to do anything. I refuse to fuck with his head... Look at all the "good" it's done me in the past... *snicker*. Ok, it was fun, I'll admit that... But not good, ya know.
It snowed and stuck finally. Hopefully it stays awhile longer, and then accumulates, but I know better than to actually assume that will happen. Winter is such a pussy these days, and it gets lamer and lamer every year. I swear someday I shall winter in Norway just to have a real-cold time once again. Nic'll come with me. I bet I can get Graham to come, too, but I'd have to knit him warm-things, his flimsy Southern skin would cry... :D
<3 KMFDM. It always makes me think of DustinFace, who I really miss and who is also in Chicago... It's like that's where EVERYBODY is... Gar.
As a side note, I require some blood-colored lipstick. It's really hard to find.
!!!!!
My brain is splody from caffeine and MSI.
I really need to go, I must move toward the shower...

Just a Moment
Also, my sisters who I have not seen or spoken to in SIX YEARS found me on Facebook. I am dumbfounded. One of them has been living in the same town as me and I didn't even know.
I think I might explode.

for the last hundred days
Today is stupid. Ten minutes into being awake I had a whole bucket of drama dumped on my head, and as soon as I thought it was finished, I almost drowned. So I went back to sleep for four more hours, and now I feel somewhat better.
I went through all my posts and added tags, because my laziness prevented earlier tagging. I cleaned out the camper and set my altar up a little nicer. I've put all my yarns away, in bags or drawers.
I've followed YouTube on a journey today, from one link to the next, and have listened to a barrage of Tori Amos, some Type O-Negative, Vader, Samael, and Regina Spektor, and Monster Magnet.
Odin is grumpy from teething and he won't eat. He's here on my lap, pulling at my bracelet.
I wish Doug would figure out what he wants to do. It really seems that this is just another "I'm going to go away forever" speech and that he won't really join the army. Just like he didn't do it any of the other dozen or so times. I feel like he's trying to threaten me into dating him again, and that is both wrong and completely lame.
Pffft. In other news, I've almost finished one Chevron Mitt [see link at right], only I knit with size 3 needles because I have no such size 4 dpns, and though the mitts fit perfectly on my wrists [which are tiny], they do not fit so well around my hand [which is large, an unfair combination if you ask me]. Therefore, they shall be for Audrey for Yule. I must work on the other mitt today as I have only gotten past the purled border at the bottom. I've also finally found a sock pattern for Doug, and although one might assume that learning to turn a heel might be complex enough for me, I decided to really go all-out... Lookit this sock! We've already picked the yarn, KnitPick's Gloss in a loverly blue-green, though we have yet to order it. He wants these knee-length tooooo. *faints* For Yule I shall knit Doug some beer cozies from the book Knitting Pretty. They look to take about half an hour apeice, so I'll do some duplicate stitching across them and make them extra exciting.
I swear, I really for serious swear that the only people I'm knitting for after Yule are Odin and me. And Graham's socks and sweater. I have some small-guage wire lying about, and I'd like to work it up into something complicated and dangly, with some pretty glass beads earring-style.
But first, I must finish the top colorwork of Graham's Pi Hat, finish the belt/felting of Heather's Hipster Bag, finish Missy's Mirabella socks, finish Audrey's [and my] Chevron Mitts, and make Doug some cozies and Mike his thing. I dunno if Mike reads this blog; he might. He's a loose cannon interweb-wise. I also want to knit a scarf for Nic and some kitchen accessories for AndySteve, the Other Mike's alarm clock cozy, and a shawl-blankety thing for mi Madre... And a few more thingies. But most of the list is quick knits or nearly-finished items, so that shouldn't be too bad. Anyway, I'm off to go check some other internetty things out and to go and clean up the kitchen and then knit. KNIT.

Birthday Conquest.
Ever since I can remember I've had shitty birthdays. Something always goes wrong or some terrible thing happens... So this year I was apprehensive and sad, just waiting for the wretched day to come. I made plans to have a party and then cancelled them and decided to stay at home and try to avoid disaster.
But.
Doug was amazing and threw me a suprise party. He bought me a birthday dinner [fie on Midland for not having a Red Lobster], I got to pick up some new knitting things [needles and organizers for my needles/hooks], and then we headed into Mt. Pleasant to "go to the bar". I had some serious suspicions, but I really didn't expect to find the combination of people when I got there. Heather and Andy were there and that was fantastic! We got really really wasted and had excellent breakfast the next morning. It turns out that Doug dropped FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS on my party, mostly in booze.
All that happened on the 3rd, and I had plans to hang out with Heather on the 6th, yesterday, my actual birthday, so James came and picked me up and he and I hung out and then he took me to Heather's, where there was even more excellence, and I owe some brownies or something to Mike and Nic for their EXTREME awesomeness. Last night was completely insane; I have never been to that place before and it was so amazing. I had days of intensity squished into only a few hours time...
Even better, there was a warm bed waiting for me when I was spent and a laughing carful of friends to transport me to said warm bed.
In other news, Hipster is nearly complete, I just need to finish the belt and felt it. I REALLY need to knock off some WIPs before I start more, but I'm really anxious to knit Bamboozled, though it won't be that wide, it shall be knit with Alpaca on size 4 needles. I think I'm going to make a whole handful of them, because I want one and I want to gift some. I love to knit cables, though, but I also love variegated yarn and only rarely to I like variegated cables, so that's somewhat of a dilemma. I also still have some kiddos to knit for, neices and nephews and this adorable little boy Danny that I wish I could keep forever. The poor boy's mother died awhile ago and his Daddy is a crackhead I hear, so he spends his time shuttled about. He spends a lot of time with my sister, who tends to take care of everyone's kids. I really think I need to make him something... Like a hat. I make everyone hats. I love making hats.
Last night I was the Hat Maker, and I devised paper bits for all to wear, labelled appropriately. It was not until I named Nic Sharpie Lord that I realized I had prevented myself from labelling further, and then became labelled myself. My right arm is "left" and my left arm is "wrong", which makes sense.
I suppose.
Anyway, I'm going to hope Odin stays asleep and update my links and whatnot, change some stuff up. I've Facebook and MySpace-d up some of my new pictures of Odin, and frankly, I fucking hate Facebook for it's upload idiocy, but it's way better than MySpace networking-wise. Too bad I don't really care about networking.
Here's Odin!! Isn't he a cutie? This kid's gonna be a heartbreaker when he's older.
But.

A blog with PICTURES? Surely you jest!
Ok, first of all, all the pictures of my knitting would be too painstaking to post in addition to everything else, so just go look at my newly updated Ravelry!
[after twenty minute Ravelry hiatus::]
But on to Halloween!!! Odin was a dragon this year, which he liked way more than last year. Maybe that's 'cause last time he was only two months old... See the difference here?

So that was neato. Man, I really wanted to do lots of crazy interwebby stuff tonight, but I'm just not feelin' it. Sigh. Oh well. I have loads of snapshots for later usage, or you can check my flickr. They're all in there somewhere...

pfffft
So it's almost my birthday. My birthday makes me horribly apprehensive as something always goes wrong.
This year I'm doing nothing for it but hanging out with Nic and Heather, and so nothing bad can happen. So that's good.
I've been knitting like mad, and took a ton of pictures [I only have left to snapshot some dyed yarns and my newest WIP [or two] and a few FOs and then get Doug to take all these pictures off the camera... And then yay, Knitting and Halloween pictures.
Joy.
In other news:
1. Tags expired, whole paycheck spent on ticket, thus carpooling with Doug which means hours of waiting after work each day.
2. Considering ideas for birthday gifts to self, difficult though.
3. Need to get off the computer and do some knitting/more knitting.
Things on to-knit list::
Chevron mits, Odin's sweater, those Finnish socks I must have translated.
I promise next time a blog with real links to these things I speak of and some for-serious reading of other's blogs, but for now I just feel like I must go frolick in yarns...
